Obstetrics

When it comes to childbirth, GHS physicians and nurses are the most experienced in the area delivering nearly 6,000 babies each year. An expanded, state-of-the-art Women's Hospital is home to extensively equipped labor, delivery, and recovery suites where attending obstetricians, neonatologists, and anesthesiologists are on-site around the clock. Greer Memorial Hospital and Laurens County Memorial Hospital also feature the latest technology in labor and delivery care.

Watch this video as Dr. Sharon Keiser talks about our philosophy of family-centered maternity care.

Our critical care OB services are among the most comprehensive in the state. A team of paramedics, a specially trained respiratory therapist, neonatologists, and a specially trained nurse are on call to transport critically ill or premature infants to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Experienced physicians provide a full-range of care throughout the spectrum of a woman's life, from pediatric and adolescent gynecology through menopausal management and geriatric medicine. Patients benefit from the latest research in medical science, high-tech equipment, specially trained nursing staff, and dedicated inpatient rooms for those recovering from surgery.

Many of our physicians have completed fellowship training in sub-specialty areas, including reproductive endocrinology and infertility, maternal-fetal medicine, urogynecology, laparoscopic surgery and gynecologic oncology.
