“What happens at the hospital during the delivery?”
“Is it normal to have cramps?”
“How do I nurse my baby?”
“What should I eat while I’m pregnant, and what can we not eat?”
“How do we get ready for labor?”
“I am going through a lot of stress – where can I find help?”
And many more…
Pregnancy can be a time of intense change and stress. Many times we want to make positive changes in our lives to improve the health of ourselves and our babies. Many of us need extra support from people who know what it’s like to go through this. For us, there is the “CenteringPregnancy®” program of Greenville Health System (GHS).
CenteringPregnancy® is a different kind of prenatal care. At many prenatal care visits, pregnant women spend more time in the waiting room than they do with their healthcare providers. In Centering, you never have to wait in a waiting room. You come straight into a comfortable space and join a group of other women with due dates close to yours. While you each get your own medical care, there is time for discussion, support, and education. You see the same people at each visit, and get two full hours with your healthcare providers each time.
